META earnings — 2026-10-21

Reported GAAP EPS $3.83 on revenue of $64.6B; a $9.89B settlement charge is inside the $3.83, so the calendar's -29.9% miss is not a read of the quarter.

Meta reported third-quarter 2026 results after the close on October 21: revenue of $64.6B (up 26% from a year earlier) and GAAP diluted EPS of $3.83, the figure in its 10-Q. The quarter carries a $9.89B charge for the August 2026 multistate attorneys-general agreement over teen mental-health and social-media claims. It lifted general and administrative expense to $14.9B from $3.5B a year earlier and cut income from operations to $13.0B from $20.5B (SEC 10-Q).

The earnings calendar's $5.46 "analyst consensus" and its -29.9% "miss" compare a GAAP actual that includes that charge with a consensus the provider does not label by basis. The charge alone is about $3.84 a share before any tax effect, more than the $1.63 gap, so the calendar's miss is not a read of operating performance and has been removed from this record. Reported EPS is $3.83; no clean consensus comparison is on file.

Meta also announced a recapitalization that works as a 2-for-1 split: a new class of non-voting Class C stock and a one-time dividend of one Class C share for every Class A and Class B share. The restated charter takes effect January 19, 2027, and the record and payment dates are not yet set (SEC 8-K filed October 21). Nothing in the price history changes before then.
